Parish Council
The Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led vision for the future of our area. It will set out how we would like our parish to develop over the coming years, guiding decisions on new homes, local facilities, green spaces, and infrastructure.
Created by local residents, the Plan will reflect what matters most to our community, shaped through consultation and other evidence.
Once approved, the Neighbourhood Plan will become part of the statutory planning framework. This means it carries real weight in shaping future planning applications and helping us protect what we value while supporting appropriate, sustainable growth.
Onehouse will continue to be a thriving rural community, with each area of the parish retaining its own identity, remaining distinct from Stowmarket.
Any growth within the parish will be sympathetically designed and meet the needs of residents and businesses, supported by good facilities and infrastructure.
Safe walking and cycling routes will connect the countryside, the parish and the surrounding areas. Any development will be sustainable, with the natural environment protected and enhanced.
Onehouse will remain a flourishing community where people of all ages are able to live.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend the Neighbourhood Plan Launch Event on Saturday.
It was extremely encouraging to see so many residents drop in, share ideas, ask questions and take part in discussions about what matters most to our village, both now and in the years ahead. The comments, feedback and conversations gathered during the event will play an important role in shaping the next stages of the Onehouse Neighbourhood Plan.
The Parish Council would like to extend its sincere thanks to all those who contributed their time and thoughts. Your involvement reflects the strong sense of community in Onehouse and your commitment to helping guide the future of the village.
If you were unable to attend the launch event, there will be further opportunities to get involved as the draft Neighbourhood Plan is developed. Details of upcoming consultations and engagement activities will be shared on this website and through our usual communication channels.
Thank you again for your continued support and for helping make Onehouse such a positive and community‑minded place to live.
Thank you for having your say.
Onehouse Parish Council would like to thank everyone who took part in the Onehouse Neighbourhood Plan household survey.
The survey has now closed, and we are very grateful to all the residents who gave their time to share their views about the future of the parish. Thank you also to everyone who helped promote the survey and encouraged friends, neighbours and family members to participate.
Your responses will provide valuable evidence to help develop the Neighbourhood Plan and ensure that it reflects the needs, priorities and aspirations of the local community. The Plan will help guide future planning decisions on matters including housing, land use, local facilities, green spaces and the character of Onehouse.
The survey responses will now be carefully analysed. A summary of the findings will be published on the Parish Council website later this summer, together with information about the next stages of the Neighbourhood Plan.
There will be further opportunities for residents to get involved as the Plan develops.
